About the Authors

Portraits of Service was born with a simple idea to create a collection of portraits that explore the lives and experiences of veterans. The authors, Robert H, Miller and Andrew Wakeford, ran with that idea, and built a project that will continue to evolve and grow as long as there are those who honor and respect the sacrifices and dedication of those who serve.

Robert and Andrew gathered an outstanding creative team to inspire, design, and polish all aspects of Portraits of Service. Portraits of Us is a group dedicated to building a library of the human experience. Portraits of Service is the flagship project for this newly formed collaborative.

Published by Patton Publishing, a company dedicated to promoting books that focus on the military experience, and backed by The Patton Foundation, directed by Helen Patton, granddaughter of General George S. Patton, Jr., Portraits of Service is a labor of love for all those involved. We hope that all who read the book, or view an exhibition, will share in our celebration.
